Take a Breath

Sometimes I have to remind myself, "Breathe Out, Breathe In."

I have been really busy lately, in blogland and in real life. This Battle of the Blogs and the drama that surrounded a couple of ill-timed reviews really took the wind out of my sails.

Breathe Out, Breathe In.

I look around and I sometimes forget to just do the simple things that add so much color and interest to my life. It is the difference between taking a stroll at lunch and eating at my desk can be enormous. You see, I love to walk, to just walk and view the world.

Breathe Out, Breathe In.

I have also been so busy that other than paying bills, I have not really opened any other mail at home. And then I looked at my calendar today, and you know, this is the first time in my life where I asked for a tax extension. And I want to get the taxes done before June. Crap-ola.

Breathe Out, Breathe In.

I have been reading non-fiction again. All sorts of non-fiction books. How to hang shelves. How to balance checkbooks. No, not really, but it has not been as enjoyable as reading children's books. You see, I love books that are targeted at adolescents. Harry Potter, for instance. Not that Harry Potter is bad. The books are well-written.

Breathe Out, Breathe In.

Work is getting a bit more difficult. I am not sure if it is the work or the people. Funny thing is that a lot of problems at work can be the source of the problems. I head an old adage, "If you don't like people, we can use you. You see, all we have around here is people."

Breathe Out, Breathe In.

I am tired today, dear readers. This is one of those days that I should have just crawled in bed and woke up at noon. Heck, I would even read Harry Potter. After all, the new book will be out fairly soon.

Some celebrity recently had the word 'breathe' tattooed (?) on her writst, she said it was to help her remember to breathe. Sometimes I can understand this because, sometimes, life simply takes our breath away.

It baffles me when an aerobic instructor screams out, "Now don't forget to breathe!!!" I never understood that...but these days, I'm finding out the hard way.

Hope you're doing okay over there! I find non-fiction to be my favorite, however, I'm dabbling into a little fiction these days to get my mind off reality. Sometimes you just need it.

Isn't it amazing how something as simple as a short walk can be that refreshing? That reminds me. I'm taking a walk at lunch today.

Hang in there, dear friend. I, like you, sometimes have to remind myself to breathe. May your Monday go well and your stresses fly away, or at least go to a safe place.

Life is made of simple things, it's you that complicates it. What I mean to say is that people tend to complicate the most simplistic things. You don't know why that is, it just is.

If you need to be reminded to breathe (and that's Lindsay Lohan by the by) you are too attached. Let it go.

Watch Ferris Bueller's Day Off. ^_^

Ohhhh, I get it. Breathing is just the right thing to do. Mostly, because you have about 2-1/2 months before that Harry Potter books comes out.

Hope the rest of the week picks up for you. Some days are just down days..
I could never get into the Harry Potter books. I seem to keep both a non fiction and fiction going at the same time. One to learn something I don't know and the other to escape knowing anything.

Wax on Wax off is a good mantra too.

Walking at lunchtime is the best thing - but it´s so much easier not to do it.

kathi: I had not heard that.

~deb: I don't do aerobics much, but when I do, I sometimes hold my breath, concentrating on how to move what body part.

rwa: or just eating breakfast outdoors every once in a while.

ian: thanks, friend.

prata: life seemed so much simpler when I was in college. And it could be simpler if I changed some things. I do think I tend to complicate simple things.

boxer: yeah, I re-read all of the books recently, in anticipation of that event.

t: some bad non-fiction seems like fiction, so you can read bad non-fiction and satisfy both needs.

dr. ~deb: Maybe I should find Karate Kid and watch it.

gilbert: thanks for the spam.

mr zhitou: I often work out during lunch.
