Every morning in the shower, I am reminded that I am a mammal when I shave my legs. I don't necessarily enjoy this ritual, but I succumb to it. I pluck and shape my brows, I shave my legs. Yes, I am a mammal trying to erase one of my mammalian traits.
I have thought about taking one week off, about not shaving my legs for more than one day. A sort of rebellion of sorts.
I don't shave down there. Never have, probably never will.
When I was in college, I dated a man who more than anything else wanted to shave me down there. He was obsessed with the removal of pubic hair, though I happened to notice that he did not shave himself down there. I think he wanted to be my barber more than he wanted to be my lover. Strange to me, and so we parted ways, without him claiming any of my hair. Probably the first person I had known who had any type of sexual fixation. Alas, he would not be the last.
Don't get me wrong – I know several of my blogging friends shave down there – even heard it called a Brazilian shaving (or waxing). If my hairdresser asked me about a Brazilian shaving, I would never have thought . . . . Just not for me. I even had an affair with a man who called me his NBV (naturally bushy vagina).
I have also said I will not color my hair, but at the first few strands of grey, I am re-thinking that stance. The strands are not noticeable to most – my husband can't even see them half the time I show him. Guess I am somewhat vain.
My hubbie, the sweetie that he is, says he doesn't mind my hair down there. "After all", he contends, "are not breasts a mammalian trait as well?"

Hi Leesa...found your blog by clicking "Next Blog" and I'm already impressed. :)
SassyGirl
sassygirl - I am so honored that I was part of the "next blog" thing. I thought my blog may be too risquet.
Hey Leesa! first of all let me say I'm sorry for not getting over here the past couple of days. I won't let it happen again.
I like hairy legs. I know that seems odd but hey I never said I wasn't odd. As for the hoo hoo area it really doesn't matter one way or the other to me as long as I'm about to enter it. The KING has spoken.
Perhaps it’s just my own personal perversion, but hardly anything pops me a woody like watching a chick shave her legs. There is some erotic twist to it that even I can’t fathom. As far a shaving the old hair clam, I could go either way on that one. I personally wouldn’t ditch my pubes. I was too proud a couple dozen years ago when I finally got ‘em. Although a friend pointed out to me once, would you rather putt in the rough, or on the green? I have my own mammalian traits. I think men don’t look quite right without some sort of facial hair. Even if it’s just soul patch, or a love brush, or as I prefer to refer to it, a flavor saver.
Hmm... Personal preference, I'm for the 'Brazilion'.... I just feel cleaner and softer...plus my partner loves it that way. Everyone's different, and has different tastes in what they prefer.
Nothing wrong with NBV, however, I like being AWO...(artificially waxed off) ;)
Interesting post!
ddot: not a problem; loved your post today, revealing.
bert: a little too much information.
deb and vid x: from your blogs, I knew both of you were clean shaven. Not that I am dirty down there.
This post was so funny. My boyfriend is like Ddot, he is just happy to be getting some. He doesn't care, although he does like to participate in the shaving ritual. I wish I could get a brazilian. I am way to scared.
Hair Clam? Gross. I'm a clean shaven gal m'self. :)
PS I didn't mean that natural look is gross...I just hate that term. Sorry. :)
I like it the way nature intended -- bushy.
Hey Leesa...this post was particularly amusing today (I'm a bit of a troll here). I think I shave my legs maybe 3-5 times a YEAR...my legs can't seem to grow enough hair to notice. Natural "down there" hair was ok til it started getting caught under the elastic of my panties...yall know what I'm talkin about too...DON'T EVEN FRONT!! So I started to trim...like a neatly manicured lawn...lol - now I have a special set of clippers and I shave it all the way down...I REFUSE to do the Brazilian thing...too scary and taking a razor to it doesn't appeal to me at all...to each her own! I just figure the less hair, the less of an obstruction there is when there's a face down there! And no more of that awful choking/gagging sound when there's a hair caught in one's throat! My husband appreciates it! HAHAHAHAHA!!
a man who loves to taste...oops..did i say that...and little thrills me like a smooth silk pleasure zone....only thing more satisfying for me is kissing....the touch of lips...especially with one who understands the passion unleashed with kissing...and nooooo hurry when lips on lips of any kind are involved....this may be a deleted comment.....naughty ken
Wow. As soon as I read this, I knew that I needed to comment.
For guys, we're generally in the habit of shaving our face...but, honestly, the only place on my body that I haven't shaved...at least once...was the top of my head. Let me tell you, I have all the respect in the world for you women who go "bald-kitty." My experience may be a bit different, I've got a few more folds of skin, but the grow back phase is not pleasant. That's not baby hair that grows back, it's full on pine shrubs. Yowza! To say that it itched would be an understatement.
Just to clear things up on my end, is there anything you won't post about? Just curious. :)
I've gone both ways (shut up deb) in the shaving dept. Either way, doesn't matter to me. Only, and maybe my hair just grows fast, but I hate it if I am in a shaving period and I skip a couple of days...it feels all prickly.
I started graying at 16. So, I started coloring around 18, 19... I've had it all (shut up deb), blue, pink, red, black, blonde and now platinum blonde.
I love visiting you leesa, I just never know what I'm gonna find. HUGS
Okay, I was telling you I never know what I might find here...and I was reading sassygirls comment about finding you by clicking 'next blog'. I've never done that before, so I tried it. This is the FIRST thing that came up:

Perhaps we should try both-pubic hair on and off. Surely this will require continued testing!
leesa: And how did you know that? LOL!!!!! I'm curious!
You're too funny girl!
We are mammals and we men should learn to warmly accept all body hair on women. It is thoroughly normal.
At the same time, the vast majority of women who exhibit their womanly bits on the web shave most or all of their pubes. This fashion started about 10 years ago and has caught on like wildfire. I reluctantly conclude that women are apparently more ashamed of their pubic hair, which admittedly is not very feminine and graceful, than they are about their vulvas. If God were a woman, he would have made sure that woman had no body hair--and no periods. But Mother Nature has sterner stuff in mind.
