Last month, ABC announced the cancellation of three shows. Okay, I only really knew one of the shows – Eli Stone – but that was one of my favorite shows on television. ABC is not the most popular television station (I think that is CBS), so I don't get why they would cancel their shows. Oh, and point of fact, they did not cancel as they really did not re-order shows. It turns out to be the same thing, though.
ABC has canceled a bunch of shows. Let's see: Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money, Eli Stone, Lipstick Jungle, Crusoe and My Own Worst Enemy. The only one I really care about is Eli Stone. But still, it appears that other than CBS, most networks are cancelling everything. Maybe it is because I don't watch much television, but it seems weird to have this many shows
I mean, it is not like it is an episode of Room Raiders.
Now there is this other show I have found – Chuck. Chuck is about a computer brained geeky guy who sort of because of bad/dumb luck, becomes a quasi-spy. My taste always kills good television. Zachary Levi and Yvonne Strahovski – sorry, but I think you need to start updating your resumes.
Just a short rant. Thanks for listening.

ABC had a show a few years ago called "The 9". I loved it. It was about 9 people who were hostages in a bank robbery. Over the season you learn what went on. They did flashbacks mixed with after story. Got canceled half way in. Never got to see why they turned out the way they did.
So to avoid this. I don't watch series television.

What is this TV thing? Read more books.
"Eli Stone", and some of "Pushing Up Daises" were intelligent offerings that did not follow the usual formula. It is depressing to realize that the dumbing down of the world continues. Shorter rant now ends...
They canceled Crusader Rabbit and I still havent gotten over THAT and you beatch about Eli Stone?
Jay Ward, the series creator, went onto another cartoon series after that. One perhaps you have heard, it was called Bullwinkle.
And that is the rest of the story!
stupid Eli Stone, such rubbish indeed. LOL
I am very upset about the cancellation of Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money. I don't understand what the networks are looking for. They put out great shows and then take them away. I am so sick of reality shows. I don't care if a Momma's boy gets a girl or if a bachelor finds himself a girlfriend on national tv. I hope the networks are paying attention to the comments that are made on the internet and realize they are making HUGE mistakes. I do wonder if DVR's, TIVO affects the ratings? How many people in today's world actually watches a show at the exact time it comes on? I know as a mother of two small children if it wasn't for our DVR I would watch no TV.
I actually am quite fond of Chuck, so I hope it lasts. Actually, who I am fond of is Yvonne Strahovski with whom I have fallen in love and lust. I find any TV show appealing if there is somebody on it for me to love and want to bed.
OK, I'm a Chuck fan as well....
I'll even go to the NBC web site & watch episodes I've missed.
I've found that to be less time consuming (only about 3-5 min of commercials).
I stumbled into your blog from flickr!
Ah well
Any New Year resolutions Leesa?
knot: I never heard of "the 9"
grant: TV is what people use to take over countries, I think.
acuity: I am with you, brother.
larry: Eli has a nice premise. The first season was wonderful, but it has lost something. Oh, yeah, it lost its contract.
damn_yankee84: Chuch is fun.
quasar: nice thoughts for a first year post, I guess.
I liked Eli Stone when it started, but I found it getting off track too often. I was a big fan of Pushing Daises. It seems like any show that is outside the cookie cutter mold of regular TV gets the axe. And then the Networks wonder why they are getting killed by HBO and Showtime. Chuck is also a funny creative show. I'm sure NBC will find a reason to drop it and add another "Reality" show.
PS So happy to see you blogging again Leesa. If I didn't see you in Deb's, I wouldn't have known. Happy New Year!
