Adult Summer Camp

I have a college friend who has invited me to do a week-long summer camp with her. I don't know if I am going to do it, but I am tempted. Ever since I have been married, I have vacationed with my husband. Sounds reasonable. I mean, we got married because we enjoyed each others' company.

Anyway, I will let you know if I go. I am thinking about it.

That brings me to a topic I don't know if it exists. In March and April, I hear about summer camps throughout Georgia. Golf camp (all sports camps, but there is a lot of golf), space camp (I think they go to Alabama for that one), day camp, traditional camps, you name it. Not once have I heard of a frazzled mothers' camp, a couples' get-away camp, a fathers' I just-want-to-fish camp.

I would not really be excited about my husband going on a cruise by himself – I have not been on one of the big cruises, but from my experience watching the Love Boat, there are a lot of hook-ups there. And frankly, I don't want him to be (unsupervised) around that many bikinis.

Sorry for such a short post this morning. It has been hot-as-hell here lately. Well, not 100, but I am not used to the heat yet. Where ever I spend summer camp, I want there to be lots of water and refreshing drinks.

Actually, they have a lot of "couple retreats" for those who are having relationship problems or want to enhance their marriages, etc. I've never heard of an 'adult day camp'. Kind of cool if you think about it though!

It's 100 degrees here in New York. I finally feel your southern pain!

I hope you're doing well and keeping cool my friend.

~deb: yeah, we have some retreats with our church as well. But the point is to work on a relationship (with spouse or God), not to have fun all day.

I like short posts. Don't stop unless it needs more attention.

I thought you meant like "ADULT" summer camp where you learn how to be a porn star or something.

All those adult camps are nothing more than people trying to do something they wish they could have been able to do. Like fulfill a childhood dream. You can go to professional baseball camp. I'm waiting for some guy to go and get discovered and make it to the bigs. Pretty rare, but might be interesting.

I wouldn't mind going to bikini camp though.

My wife and I enjoy camping. But I draw the line at daytime temps above 90 degrees.

But she likes to camp even when its hot. She belongs to a group of similar minded women called "Texas Outdoor Women Network", aka "TOWN". They camp year round. Generally three or four day weekends once a month. She got her friend to join her on July's camp trip.

My wife says that when they go, the group, about 20- 30 women, will pick several sites at the end of the area, because she says the nightime talk can get rather bawdy. they have all types, ages from 20 to 70, straight, lesbian, bi's, divorced, widowed, jaundiced LOL, whatever. Throw in some rum and cokes in plastic tumblers, and well, that would be your kind of trip.

Check out the local REI location near you, they would have info on groups like that. They maybe co-ed, or women only.

A little off topic, Guys... I have a question. Two days ago I played around this site:
Rivalspot.com - Play Ps3 tournaments for cash
They say you can play online sports game tournaments on any console for cash... had anyone tried that before? Looks like a cool idea...
Are there any other sites where you can play sports games for real moneys? I Googled and found only Bringit.com and Worldgaming.com but it looks these guys don't specialize in sport gamez. Any suggestions?
