Marlo Thomas Tweets?

I was reading a blog the other day, and it said something having a conversation with Marlo Thomas, then comma, a best-selling erotic novel writer. It seemed that Marlo Thomas started writing erotic novels. So I clicked on the link, which brought me to her Twitter account. Apparently the person who wrote the words were a bit vague, and the comma separated two idea; it was not their attention to attribute the "best-selling erotic novel writer" description to Ms. Thomas. Anyway, I clicked on a link from her Twitter account, and it brought me to one of her videos.

I had not seen Ms. Thomas for years (really just remember her in Free to be You and Me), and although I was unable to identify her with how she looks (she looks really good, actually, for a 73-year-old; I would have guessed she was 50 by her appearance), her voice has not changed at all.

The video went to another Marlo Thomas video, and another one. And I loved her videos. They made me feel like I was 10 years-old again, listening to someone tell me how to live my life. I don't know exactly how to explain it, but it was comforting. I felt like I was listening to her words on a record player (not a turntable), sitting on my twin-sized bed, floral colorful printed bedspread, the whole little-girl enchilada. I like feeling like a 10-year-old every once in a while.

After a while, the cue must have run out of Marlo Thomas clips, and I was snapped into reality by some other person – perhaps Tory Johnson talking about career advice. And I was not ready to put on a pantsuit and act like a grownup.

Speaking of women with interesting names (Marlo), I have a confession to make: I get Alanis Morissette and Avril Lavigne mixed up in my head. Ironic is one of my favorite songs, even though it does not make sense. And I really though Avril sang Girlfriend.

Don't pretend, I think you know I'm damn precious,
And hell yeah I'm the mother fucking princess,
I can tell you like me too and you know I'm right.

Doesn't Avril sing girlfriend??? I am going to have to come back and click your links (i cannot click them atm )

Ironic bugs me. It's not all that ironic. Some of it is, but sometimes it's just being lazy or an idiot. Like a spoon when all you need is a knife? Where are you that you can't get a spoon? and the whole plane crashing down thing... well that is SAD not ironic. You get the idea.

The year Alanis won the singer of the year I was a fan of Joan Osbourne. I think Alanis won by having a song where she used the F bomb and talked about going down on her b-friend in a movie in its lyrics. But that is just my take, her life seems to have been a bitter little pill.

As far as images of you as a 10 year old in childhood, I think we all have that at times. For me it was playing baseball with wild abandon, stinking the whole way but being oblivious to it all LOL.

I love girlfriend, and while I am not usually one of those pop fans the beat just rocks, plus lyrics like that are just fun to say out loud, even if you're a guy.

Free to me you and me was one of my favorites growing up! I remember listening to it on a record player! Ah the good old days lol.

I was a bit taken aback at first to think Marlo Thomas was writing erotica, that would just have been weird!.

I always wondered what happened to Phil Donahue.

Xmichra: Ironic bugs a bunch of people who know what that word means.

larry: striking out when you don't care and it feels so good. Sounds like dancing when you don't care what you look like.

sheen: that girl was before my time, but I remember it being on in reruns when I was over at other people's houses, though I don't remember watching it. She threw up a hat in the beginning, right?

michael: I think Marlo Thomas is as wholesome as ever. I first saw Free to Be You and Me as an adult.

knot: I think he was seen recently, interviewed by Oprah when she was doing her farewell tour.

I don't know who Marlo Thomas is...I'm apparently out of the loop. :(
However, I do love the song Girlfriend--mostly because it's awesome to run to.

Hope you had a great weekend!
